As a boy in Sekinchan, he waited eagerly for his older sisters to return from Kuala Lumpur. One visit, they brought home something new – a simple pack of popcorn kernels with butter.
As it popped on the stove, the air filled with a golden, buttery fragrance. To him, it wasn’t just the smell of popcorn. It was the smell of happiness – the laughter of family reunited, the warmth of home, and the excitement of discovering a new taste together.
That moment stayed with him, etched into memory as the day he fell in love with popcorn.
Years passed, but that memory never left. About twenty years ago, he came across popcorn from abroad – bold flavours, both sweet and savoury, and an unforgettable crunch. A trip to Taiwan deepened his passion: the popcorn there was so crisp, so flavourful, that he knew he had to recreate it back home in Sekinchan.
That spark became his lifelong pursuit – to perfect the art of popcorn. He experimented, tested, and refined, driven by one simple belief: popcorn should always bring happiness, just like it did in his childhood. Crunchier, lighter, more flavourful – each batch became his way of sharing joy with others.
Today, that same passion continues through Sekinchan Popcorn.
